Patient Rights and Responsibilities

Patient Rights and Responsibilities

This document outlines the core areas of patient rights and responsibilities, emphasizing the commitment of Beyond TSH to patient-centered care. While Beyond TSH does not function as a health plan or accept insurance, the following rights and responsibilities are still fundamental to your care experience.

I. Information Disclosure

You have the right to receive accurate, easily understood information about your health care options, providers, and services.

  • Provider Information: You will receive information about the education, certification, and experience of your provider, as well as the scope of services offered through Beyond TSH.
  • Service Details: Clear explanations of available services, expected outcomes, and any associated costs will be provided to ensure informed decision-making.

Note: Since Beyond TSH is not a health plan and does not accept insurance, information typically associated with health plans (e.g., coverage benefits, cost-sharing, network access) does not apply.

II. Choice of Providers and Services

You have the right to choose from a range of services and support options to address your specific health needs.

  • Specialized Care Access: You have direct access to specialized thyroid and foundational health care without referral requirements. The services are structured to provide continuity and personalized care, focusing on supporting health restoration.
  • Flexibility: As Beyond TSH is a private pay, direct care practice, you have the flexibility to determine the type and extent of services that best suit your health goals, without limitations from health plan networks or coverage constraints.

III. Access to Care and Services

You have the right to receive care when needed, within the scope of services offered by Beyond TSH.

  • Emergency Care: While emergency services are not provided by Beyond TSH, patients are encouraged to seek immediate medical attention at the nearest facility for urgent needs.
  • Service Availability: Virtual appointments and support services are available to ensure timely access, focusing on your ongoing wellness journey.

IV. Participation in Treatment Decisions

You have the right to actively participate in all decisions related to your care.

  • Informed Decisions: Treatment plans are tailored to your needs, with clear explanations of available options. You will have the opportunity to decide among treatment recommendations, understand potential outcomes, and express preferences about your care.

V. Respect and Nondiscrimination

You have the right to considerate, respectful care. Beyond TSH ensures a non-discriminatory approach based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, genetic information, or source of payment.

VI. Confidentiality of Health Information

Your health information is kept confidential. You have the right to communicate privately with your provider and to review or amend your records.

  • Privacy Protection: Your information is used only to provide services, support your care, and facilitate payment. No third-party sharing occurs without your explicit consent.

VII. Complaints and Concerns

You have the right to a fair process for addressing concerns about services or care received.

  • Resolution Process: Any concerns or complaints about your care can be directed to the practice. Beyond TSH is committed to addressing and resolving concerns in a timely and respectful manner.

VIII. Consumer Responsibilities

As a participant in your health journey, your involvement plays a crucial role in achieving positive outcomes.

  • Engagement: Be proactive in discussing your health goals, collaborating on treatment plans, and sharing feedback about your care experience.
  • Financial Responsibility: Understand that services are paid directly by you, the patient. Make good-faith efforts to meet your financial obligations related to services received.
